Argentina Hockey Festival

 

Argentina Hockey Festival is an annual cultural and sports exchange tournament organized by Team Sports since 2007. The inscription for the next edition it’ s open.Next editions:

  • 2024:  25th & 26th July, Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • 2025:  24th & 25th July, Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • 2026:  23th & 24th July, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Club Italiano of Buenos Aires will be host this international tournament, playing in 4 categories: Girls U18 and U16, Boys U18 and U16.

Boys and Girls teams from USA, Uruguay, South Africa, Australia, England, Canada and Argentina was playing in our previous festivals since 2007, sharing unforgettable days inside and outside the field.

KEY INFORMATION:

Hockey Tournament:
11 players per team. In the first stage the teams will play games with a reduced time (2 times of 25 minutes each). The semifinals and the Finals will be played in two periods of 30 minutes

Categories:

  • Under 18 (Boys & Girls)
  • Under 16 (Boys & Girls)

Opening and closing ceremony:
Parade and presentation of each taking part in delegation. Handover of souvenirs and awards.

Cultural Exchange:
Presentations in charge of each team (dancing, singing, choreographies, others.)

FORMAT

Day 1:
09:00 hs. Teams arriving to the host club
09:30 hs. Parade Presentation Open Ceremony
09:50 hs. Folklore Show Presentation
10:15 hs. First round of game
13:15 hrs Break for lunch
15:00 hrs. 2nd round of games
17:30 hrs. End hockey matches.

 

Day 2:
08:30 hs. Teams arriving to the host club.
09:00 hs. 3rd Round of matches
12:15 hrs. Break for lunch
14:00 hs. The Finals Round of Matches
19:00 hs. Awards Ceremony.
21:00 hrs. Karaoke Show and Final Party

AIMS

  • Promote sports and cultural exchange among young people from around the world, regardless of their ethnic group, religion, economic background, physical ability, or intellectual or cultural level.
  • Seek the appropriate environment for the exchange of experiences, new techniques, tools, tendencies and instructions in general that may allow to deepen the expansion and diffusion of field hockey in the region.
  • Promote the understanding, acceptance and friendship between people involved in field hockey from around the world.
  • Foster the practice of sports, ally of the youth to confront discrimination, delinquency and drugs.
  • Stimulate healthy life styles. Unanimous condition of practically all the sportsmen.
  • Incorporate Argentina to the world field hockey calendar for Schools and Clubs, Under 18 and Under 16 years old.

TRAVEL PACKAGES:
Each Team will have the chance to choose any of the preliminary packages available :

  • 7, 10, 14 or more nights in Argentina
  • A package including Buenos Aires, Rosario and Mar del Plata
  • Other combinations in Argentina including Iguazú Falls, Mendoza, Córdoba, Bariloche, Calafate, Salta, Tucumán.
  • International extensions like Montevideo and Colonia (Uruguay), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Santiago and Vina del Mar (Chile)

FAQ

-Is Argentina Hockey Festival (A.H.F.) a social or a competitive event?
It is a competitive event, in which only the official Schools, Clubs and Regional Federation from around the world can participate.

-Are different categories?
Yes, the teams would compete in 4 categories depending on the aged and gender. The AHF organization committee will evaluate the team participants level, to guarantee security and competence for all the participants teams.

-How many players would have a team and how long should be the matches?
Matches would be with 11 players for each team, in matches with 2 times of 25 minutes each one the classification stage. The finals matches would have 2 times of 30 minutes.

– When can I inscribe my team to participate in the next Argentina Hockey Festival?
The pre-inscription is opened at the moment. Just contact your local travel agency to assure you a place in the next editions.

– It is obligatory to prepare a cultural presentation?
No, it isn’t obligatory but it is recommendable.

RULES

Admission
Only Official delegations from schools, clubs and local Hockey Unions from around the world may participate in the tournament.

Teams
Each institution must present a minimum of 14 players. The organization recommends that each delegation presents a referee

Fixtures
The schedule with the dates and hours of the matches will be handed to the team responsible once the official forms are filled and the inscription is finished.

Inscription fees:
There is not an inscription fee to pay, it’s included in your travel package.

Sports Field:
All the matches will be played on fields authorized by the organizing commission.

Rules and regulations
The Competence will be played by the rules of Field Hockey and by the FIH/PAHF standards, with the following modifications:

1.- The matches of the 1st round will be played in two halves of 25 minutes each. The finals will be played in full time halves.

2.- The number of substitutions per match is unlimited.

Any other cases of technical or general matter, will be solved by the Organization Committee.

Health Insurance:
Each institution will have to present a certificate of health insurance for each member of the delegation.

Emergencies and First Aids:
The committee will hire a medical emergency company. They will be beside the field during each match.

Discipline:
A discipline committee will be created together with the management of the teams and the organizer commission. The players that are sent off won’t be able to continue participating in the tournament. Indiscipline from any of the teams behave outside the playing field will also be penalized with the expulsion of the team of the tournament.

Pools
The teams will be grouped in pools of 4 or 6 per category, playing to each other. The team that classifies 1st will play the final match for the Gold Cup, Teams who finish 2nd will play for the Silver Cup, and teams who finish 3rd will play for the Bronze Cup.

In case of a tie: If 2 or more teams finish the 1 st round tied, the tie will be broken in the following way:

  1. Goal difference (scored goals – received goals).
  2. Amount of scored goals
  3. Amount of received goals
  4. Final result between the tied teams.
  5. By lot.

In case of a tie in the finals, 3 penalty shots will be made by each team. If the tie persists, 1 penalty shot will be made each team until the tie is broken.

If a team does not respect the hour of a match, the points will be given to the present team with the following goals (2-0). These goals count in case of a tie.
